SunriseBrowser is a Web browser that uses the Apple Web Kit as its engine.

The browser itself it very fast. It's one of the fastest browsers that features tabbed browsing. It also has a short startup time.

The interface of SunriseBrowser is flexible, but not as flexible compared to other Mac OS X Web browsers. You can add/remove the default buttons, but there aren't many of them. The tabs are quite well implemented.

SunriseBrowser doesn't feature any auto-completion functionality. I especially missed the auto completion for the Web pages that I usually visit. It has a 'History' menu but I couldn't find any items in it.

Another frustrating thing is the fact that it can't access secured Web pages. Some Web pages are secured via SSL in order to keep your private data safe. This means that, for example, you can't use this browser in order to do online shopping because the payment modules use secured connections.

The compatibility with most of the Websites is good. The reason for this to happen is the Web Kit that's behind this browser. Because of this engine, the Acid2 test is passed.

Pluses: it is one of the fastest implementations of Web Kit, it features tabbed browsing. The links that target to a new window are opened into a new tab, so it won't fill your desktop with tonnes of useless windows. The size of the distribution package is very small. It also has a low memory footprint. It won't take many system resources.

Drawbacks / flaws: i doesn't have auto-completion at all, it can't access secured Web pages.

In conclusion: even though it's fast, the lack of some features makes this Web browser an immature product. It has potential, but it depends on the developers if it's going to be a strong alternative to: Firefox, Opera, Camino, OmniWeb, Shiira, or Safari.
